Al-Zumar · The Throngs
سُورَةُ الزمر
About this chapter
Sūrat al-Zumar is the thirty-ninth chapter of the Quran and it was revealed in Mecca. It is apparently the fifty-ninth chapter that was revealed, after Sūrat Sabaʾ (34) and before Sūrat Ghāfir (40). It consists of seventy-five verses.
The introduction sets out when the chapter came and what it addresses; the merits gather what the narrations say of reading it. Both are written as units of the tafsir, with their own footnotes.
