سُورَةُ المجادلة

About this chapter

This chapter is popularly known and pronounced as Sūrat al-Mujādilah. When the term al-mujādilah is spelt and pronounced thus it is identified as a feminine active participle and means: the woman who argues or disputes with someone, where that someone, in this case, was the Messenger of God, Muhammad (s). However, this surah is also known, and can be pronounced, as Sūrat al-Mujādalah.

The introduction sets out when the chapter came and what it addresses; the merits gather what the narrations say of reading it. Both are written as units of the tafsir, with their own footnotes.
