Al-Ṭalāq · Divorce
سُورَةُ الطلاق
About this chapter
Sūrat al-Ṭalāq is a Medinan surah, as its content suggests. In some reports it is also referred to as the ‘short Sūrat al-Nisāʾ’. It was reportedly revealed after Sūrat al-Baqarah, which also contains rulings of divorce.
The introduction sets out when the chapter came and what it addresses; the merits gather what the narrations say of reading it. Both are written as units of the tafsir, with their own footnotes.
